    Independence is a web site on employment and disability policy. This web-based resource brings together a wealth of information, with sections about public employment policy, research, and enabling programs and supports for people with disabilities.   • JAN (Job Accommodation Network)
    JAN is not a job placement service, but an international toll-free consulting service that provides information about job accommodations and the employability of people with disabilities. JAN also provides information regarding the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). JAN has Points of Interest Pages. These pages contain a lot of links to help you find the information you need. One of the links is an Employment Tips resource list for those seeking employment opportunities. Another link is to a list of links to ADA sites.

    The goal of JOB Access is to enable people with disabilities to enhance their professional lives by providing a dedicated system for finding employment. Due to real or perceived discrimination, these job seekers feel they have encountered a closed door policy. By posting job opportunities with JOB Access, employers not only exhibit an open door policy but also demonstrate their responsiveness to affirmative action by genuinely recruiting qualified persons with disabilities. With JOB Access companies can post job descriptions, essential duties and contact information and also search the online resume bank.     The 4th annual World Congress & Exposition on Disabilities (WCD) (September 18-20, 2003)     will continue its mission to provide something valuable for everyone in the disability community.
