Breckenridge Outdoor Education

Since 1976, the BOEC has offered quality outdoor learning experiences to people
of all abilities, including people with disabilities, those with serious
illnesses and injuries, and "at-risk" populations. As a non-profit
organization we are dedicated to helping people reach their full potential
through custom programs for groups and opportunities for individuals. With
adventure trips, internships, and volunteer positions, people of all abilities

The Minnesota Broken Wing Connection
The Minnesota Broken Wing Connection, a small non-profit, was formed to help the disabled discover, or rediscover, the great outdoors and how to get back out there. This has been accomplished by our becoming a national resource center and a Minnesota learning center for people with disabilities who are looking for other options in life. The
ninth national invitational Sportsfest for people with disabilities is planned for September

USA Deaf Sports Federation
The Akron Club of the Deaf in Ohio sponsored the first national
basketball tournament in 1945, at which time it established the American
Athletic Union of the Deaf. The organization was later renamed the American
Athletic Association of the Deaf (AAAD), and in 1997, the USA Deaf Sports
Federation (USADSF). The mission of the USADSF is to
provide year-round training and athletic competition in a variety of sports at
the state, regional, national, and international level for developing and elite

Exposition on Disabilities (WCD)
The annual World Congress & Exposition on Disabilities (WCD) (November 15-17, 2007) will
continue its mission to provide something valuable for everyone in the
disability community. The show floor will once again host a wide array of the
latest products and services from more than 200 exhibitors representing
associations, pharmaceutical, assistive technology, automotive, mobility,
durable medical equipment, personal care, computer and many other industries.
There will be a Sports & Entertainment Showcase, Disability Career Fair, the Assistive Technology
Pavilion, Home and Workplace Accessibility Pavilion. There will also be WCD
educational seminars..
